Creating your first companion is easy and takes less than two minutes. Here is how to get started.
Step 1: Open the Creator
Tap the + button at the bottom of the sidebar (desktop) or navigate to Discover > Create on mobile. This opens the companion builder.
Step 2: Choose a Name and Avatar
Give your companion a name that feels right. You can upload your own avatar image or use our AI-powered portrait generator to create one instantly. Choose from dozens of art styles, from photorealistic to anime.
Step 3: Define Personality
Write a short personality description or pick from preset archetypes like Witty Best Friend, Romantic Partner, Study Buddy, or Creative Muse. The more detail you provide, the more nuanced your companion's responses will be.
Step 4: Set Conversation Style
Adjust sliders for traits like humor, empathy, directness, and creativity. These shape how your companion responds in chat.
Step 5: Start Chatting
Hit Create and you will be dropped right into your first conversation. Your companion remembers everything you discuss, building a richer relationship over time.
Tips for a Great Start
- Be specific in the personality description. "Sarcastic but caring barista who loves cats" works better than "nice person."
- Try the suggested conversation starters to see how your companion reacts.
- You can edit personality and appearance anytime from the companion's profile.
